Comparing the same 1,301 laptops month by month, Best Buy laptop prices are up 1.9% compared with Jul 2026, and up 23.0% since Nov 2025, when our laptop index starts.
In our data so far, November 2025 was the cheapest month to buy a laptop at Best Buy (index 100.0) and September 2026 the most expensive (122.0). That's based on 11 complete months; a seasonal pattern is only dependable once a full year has been tracked, so treat it as a guide.
In the last 30 days, 27% of the laptops we track had at least one price cut. Compared with 90 days ago, 28% cost less now and 43% cost more; the rest haven't moved.

How these numbers are calculated
Laptops here are the in-stock products in Best Buy's Laptops, Gaming Laptops and Microsoft Surface Laptops categories. We record each one's price from Best Buy's product feed every day and keep every change.
We use the 1,301 laptops that already had a price in November 2025. For each month, a laptop's price is the last price recorded on or before the end of that month, and the index is 100 times the median of (that month's price ÷ its first-month price).
The Black Friday comparison uses the last price we recorded on November 28, 2025 for each laptop we were already tracking then and that is still in stock. The two lists include laptops priced $150 or more whose price hasn't changed more than 8 times in 90 days; price drops count only cuts of 10–70% from a price held for at least 3 days.
